While most of my days are spent in a lab, doing research and teaching myself and others, I am also passionate about discussing science and engineering and their links to society outside the lab - with anyone keen to listen.
More specifically, over the past 5 year I have volunteered my time in outreach initiatives such as the Pint of Science festival and Imperial Lates, aiming to introduce a layman audience to the wonders of science.
Additionally, I have participated in events organised by the Women in Science, Engineering and Technology (WSET) society at Imperial College London discussing non-linear scientific paths, successes and failures, and encouraging undergraduate and graduate women at Imperial to pursue a career within a technical field.
Finally, together with two of my colleagues, Dr Natalie Imirzian and Liv Walthaus, I have co-founded an event series called "Discussions for Change" that aims to kindle conversations around the culture in academia as well as societal implications of science and technology.
Photos and recordings from the events can be found below. Watch this space, or get in touch with me, if you are interested in attending/ discussing/ co-organising future activities!
